Convection developed out ahead of an approaching cold front in a high precipitable water environment (around 2 inches based on the 12Z 6/28 OKX sounding), leading to isolated flash flooding across parts of coastal Fairfield County, CT. Rainfall amounts from CoCoRaHS gauges in the area ranged from 1-1.5 inches, the majority of which fell in a short period of time.
