July 5th marked the sixth straight day of 90 degree temperatures at Albany, but the heat was broken by scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. One slow-moving storm dumped heavy rainfall over the central portion of Albany, resulting in numerous reports of flash flooding. Locally, up to five inches of rainfall occurred in less than two hours.
