Scattered thunderstorms developed ahead of a slow-moving cold front during the afternoon and evening of July 27th. The first cluster of storms that developed in the early afternoon produced fairly extensive wind damage over portions of the Capital District in addition to hail up to golf ball size. The wind brought down several large trees onto houses in and around Albany and Troy and damaged an outdoor stage set up on a golf course.
