Thunderstorms developed over northwest portions of La Paz County during the late evening hours on August 15th, and some of the storms produced very heavy rainfall which persisted into the early morning hours on August 16th. Rain totals with the stronger storms exceeded 3 inches and this led to flash flooding along the lower Colorado River valley, from Parker northeast through Parker Dam.
