Showers and thunderstorms developed in a moist and unstable airmass ahead of an approaching cold front, leading to isolated flash flooding in Bergen County, New Jersey. Precipitable water values during the afternoon were around 2 inches, and an automated observing station in Oakland, NJ recorded 1.88 inches of rain, the majority of which fell within a 2-3 hour period.
