High precipitable waters of around 2.0 inches, from the combination of gulf Stream moisture from a Bermuda high and low level flow parallel to a front zone stalled across the region, resulted in heavy rainfall of 2 to 4 inches across central NC. The heaviest rain fell across Randolph County, causing flash flooding in the city of Archdale during the late evening hours.
