Flash Flood — Greenbrier, WV

A slowly approaching frontal boundary late on the 7th triggered more widespread shower and thunderstorms in the late afternoon into the nighttime hours. Storms over Greenbrier County during the early morning hours of the 8th produced radar estimated rainfall of 1.5 to 3 inches in a few hours with some flash flooding reported near Lewisburg as water entered a home. For the 24 hours ending at 12z, Keeney Knob IFLOWS (KEEW2) measured 2.68��� (of which 1.85��� fell in 1 hour ending 05z)

A broad closed off upper low drifted across South Carolina and northwest back into southwest Virginia and West Virginia bringing persistent rainfall that eventually led to flooding. There were repeated rounds of heavy rainfall with widespread amounts of 2 to 5 inches.
