Abundant moisture and moderate instability fueled the development of scattered to numerous thunderstorms late this Friday afternoon through the overnight. In addition to disrupting and cancelling many area high school football games, some of these storms became severe with high winds and large hail. Torrential downpours also resulted in some flooding, especially in and around the Lubbock area.
