Isolated thunderstorms developed over portions of the central deserts during the early morning hours on October 1st. Tropical moisture spreading into the area ahead of Hurricane Rosa increased the potential for heavy rains with any storm that formed; as a result heavy rain developed south of Phoenix and east of Gila Bend shortly after midnight.
