A series of disturbances ahead of a cold frontal boundary brought rounds of heavy rainfall and strong to severe thunderstorms to the region during the afternoon and evening hours of Friday, August 17th. As a result of these disturbances, numerous trees and wires were downed across the region. There were also reports of flash flooding in Columbia county, New York.
