Showers and thunderstorms developed in a warm and humid environment ahead of an approaching cold front, resulting in isolated flash flooding across portions of urban northeast New Jersey. These storms brought 1-2 inches of rain to the region in a matter of hours, with a cooperative observer in Harrison, NJ recording 1.79 inches of rain during the event.
