Flash Flood — McDowell, NC

A small cluster of showers and thunderstorms developed and became anchored along the eastern escarpment of the Blue Ridge during the evening. Five to six inches of rain fell along the border of northern McDowell and Burke Counties, resulting in flash flooding along tributaries of the North Fork Catawba River in McDowell County.
