Clearing skies in the southwest Texas Panhandle allowed thunderstorms to rapidly develop across that region. With weak steering winds under 20 MPH, storms slowly drifted to the northeast mainly staying over parts of Deaf Smith, Oldham, Potter, and Randall counties. Some cores did develop severe hail and did exhibit strong rotation.
