During the early morning hours of November 12th, a deep upper trough was located across the Inter-Mountain West into the Great Plains and this feature was able to tap a vigorous plume of moisture from the Eastern Pacific and the Gulf of Mexico into the Four State Region. A surface frontal boundary had pushed well south of the area and was located near or along the Southeast Texas, Southern Louisiana Gulf Coast.
