Hot and humid conditions with temperatures in the 90s and dew points in the 70s on the afternoon of the 3rd produced torrential rainfall with radar estimated rainfall rates up to 5 inches and hour. Though these storms were moving at a forward motion around 25 mph, the intensity of the rainfall resulted in flash flooding over portions of Lucas and Trumbull Counties. The Toledo area (Lucas County) experienced similar torrential rainfall concurrently as the Liberty Township (Trumbull County) storms
