A weak surface trough developed from the Texas Hill Country into Deep East Texas and Northcentral Louisiana during the daytime hours of December 7th, which was further enhanced as a developing warm front ahead of a strong upper level trough that translated east across much of Texas. This trough tapped into a rich supply of Pacific moisture as it spread northeast across Texas and the Lower Mississippi Valley, with strong overrunning atop this weak surface trough/warm front ahead of the upper leve
