A weakening surface low tracked northeast across Lake Huron during the afternoon hours with its corresponding warm front extending to the east across Lake Ontario then snaking south ahead of the higher terrain east of Syracuse. This placed all of western New York within the warm sector of the aforementioned storm system. Within this environment, a weak 30 kt low level jet was moving through the region.
