A strong storm system moved through the Ohio River Valley and central Appalachians on the 19th and 20th. Temperatures ahead of this system were warm, so precipitation started as rain. Around one inch of rain fell on the 19th. A cold front moved through late that evening, with temperatures dropping very quickly behind the front.
