A third late December significant rainfall event developed after Christmas as the active southern jet stream helped to spin up another complex area of low pressure which slowly moved through the southeast and Mid-Atlantic December 27-29. Rainfall over the 2-day period ending at 12z (7 AM EST) on the 29th was approximately 1 to 3 inches across the region with isolated higher amounts up to 3.5 inches.
