Widespread moderate to heavy rain developed across northeast Georgia on the 27th in advance of a strong cold front. The rain persisted through much of the 28th before tapering off late in the day. Storm total rainfall amounts of 4 to 5 inches occurred across the mountains, with locally higher amounts in excess of 6 inches. This resulted in flooding along a couple of small streams.
