Rain developed in association with a cold front during the evening of the 21st and continued for much of the following 24 hours across western North Carolina, with total rainfall amounts ranging from 3 to 4 inches across the southern mountains to around 2 inches in the Piedmont. This resulted in minor flooding along several streams.
