Another deepening low pressure system, during the winter of 2007-08, lifted northeast through West Virginia and the eastern Ohio Valley. Gusty showers and thunderstorms were associated with the wind shift in the wake of the storm center. Brief gusts of 40 to 50 mph were common across the western lowlands of West Virginia.
