Snow melt water from a deep snow pack and ice jamming brought Oak Creek above flood stage at the end of March. Oak Creek near Wakpala rose to major flood stage to nearly 17 feet or about 7 feet above flood stage. Some homes were threatened by the flooding along with a few roads flooded. The flooding continued into April.
