Minor flooding occurred along the Cheyenne River from upstream of Wasta to Lake Oahe due to releases from Angostura Dam, snowmelt, and ice jams. On March 15, releases began from Angostura Dam through the radial gates. With ice still in the river, the water began cutting away at the ice, causing large chunks of ice to make their way downstream. A large ice jam formed just downstream from the gage near Wasta.
