A storm system and its attendant cold front moved across northwest Illinois during the afternoon and evening hours. Showers and thunderstorms developed ahead of this front. A few of these storms became severe. Hail up to the size of quarters fell with these storms as well as wind gusts over 60 MPH. Additionally, over an inch of rain fell in the Quad Cities, which produced brief flash flooding along River Drive in Moline.
