An area of low pressure over northeast Oklahoma moved slowly across southern Missouri. Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms developed from the morning of the 23rd to the afternoon of the 25th. Total rainfall accumulations averaged between one and two inches, with the highest amounts over Shannon County in south central Missouri, where localized flooding occurred.
