Slow moving low pressure, combined with an unstable and moist environment over upstate New York contributed to several more rounds of torrential rain producing thunderstorms in the area. Thunderstorms lasted for a good portion of the late morning and early afternoon, providing up to 4-5 inches of locally heavy rainfall. This led to areas of urban storm drain flooding and stream flooding. The stream gauge near Moravia exceeded major flood stage.
