A stalled front just to the northwest of the area combined with several upper level disturbances moving across created several rounds of heavy rain. The heavy rain on already saturated ground led to a significant flash flood event across Stone, Perry, and George Counties in southeast Mississippi. Over a foot of rain was recorded in parts of Stone County. A CoCoRahs station just northeast of Perkinston, MS measured a storm total of 14.07. A personal weather station near Wiggins, MS recorded 12.89
