Scattered showers and thunderstorms were able to bloom during the afternoon hours as a shortwave trough crossed the region while convective temperatures were reached. CAPE values of 1000-2000 J/kg were sufficient to induce updrafts capable of tapping dry air aloft to create a few instances of downbursts.
