A series of mesoscale convective systems (MCS) developed over the Plains and moved eastward into the Ozarks during the early morning hours each day of the event. This left outflow boundaries across the region each afternoon which interacted with moist and unstable conditions to produce scattered thunderstorms. Each round of storms produced over an inch of rain and isolated severe storms over portions of the Ozarks.
