Very early in the morning on the 22nd, severe thunderstorms hit much of Central Kansas with a trifecta of large hail, damaging winds and flash floods. Of the 3 modes, damaging winds and flash floods posed, by far, the greatest threats. The flash flooding hit Marion County especially hard where in Peabody, businesses were flooded and mandatory evacuations were enforced.
