Isolated monsoon thunderstorms developed over portions of eastern Imperial County during the afternoon hours on July 23rd. The stronger storms generated locally heavy rains with peak rain rates in excess of one inch per hour. The heavy rain led to one episode of flash flooding over rather open country in far eastern Imperial County.
