A line of thunderstorms moved across northeast Iowa during the late morning and afternoon of June 27th. These storms dropped hail, ranging from dime to quarter sized, across portions of Floyd, Howard and Chickasaw Counties. The largest reported hail was quarter sized near Elma (Howard County). The storms also produced some damaging winds that blew down trees near Elkader (Clayton County) and in Strawberry Point (Clayton County).
