A stationary front that had brought a series of flash floods to Ohio earlier in the week continued to linger across the area on the afternoon of the 20th. Flash flood watches were in effect for northern and central Ohio for the afternoon and early evening. An area of low pressure tracked eastward along the boundary in the evening with a strong cold front trailing behind it.
