Flash Flood — Catawba, NC

Numerous showers and thunderstorms developed across the North Carolina foothills from afternoon into the evening in the vicinity of a frontal boundary. A series of showers and storms moving repeatedly over the Hickory metro area produced around 3 inches of rain in just a couple of hours, resulting in flash flooding.
