Numerous showers and thunderstorms developed across portions of Upstate South Carolina from afternoon into the evening in the vicinity of a frontal boundary. A series of showers and storms moving repeatedly over Cherokee County produced around 4 inches of rain in just a couple of hours, resulting in flash flooding.
