Due to the near record high water levels on Lake Michigan, the Milwaukee River has also risen resulting in basement flooding in nearby restaurants and businesses. The Milwaukee Health Department ordered the temporary closure of two restaurants. The basement flooding, or the use pumps for mitigation, will continue through the summer or beyond until the lake and river levels drop.
