Scattered thunderstorms affected the southern half of the state of Indiana during the afternoon and evening of July 3rd. Storm motions were slow as convection pushed east to southeast during this timeframe. These slow storm motions led to rounds of heavy rain over the same area which produced flash flooding in Shelby County. A couple additional strong storms over the southwest portions of central Indiana produced damaging winds.
