Weak flow at all levels was present for Independence Day with weak upper level ridging across the mid-Atlantic and a weak trough across Ohio. Winds up to 700 mb were mainly less than 10 knots. A weak warm front meandered north and increased dewpoints and surface-based instability across western New York in the afternoon hours.
