An easterly wave that drifted northwest through northern Mexico on September 12-13, 2019 moved slowly north into southern New Mexico on September 14, 2019. A deep tap of tropical moisture in association with the easterly wave along with weak steering flow over the region produced slow-moving thunderstorms with torrential rainfall.
