This moist and moderately unstable atmosphere, combined with surface heating resulted in widespread afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms and an isolated report of severe weather. Rainfall amounts of 5-6 inches impacted the north Atlanta metro area, producing isolated flash flooding.
