Showers and thunderstorms developed during the afternoon as precipitable water values rose above 1.50 inches, resulting in isolated flash flooding in urban northeast New Jersey. Rainfall amounts varied widely across the area, with areas that received the most prolonged rainfall such as Newark Airport and Harrison reporting 1.60 and 1.17 inches, respectively.
