A strong upper level shortwave, along with ample heat and humidity, resulted in numerous strong to severe thunderstorms during the afternoon of Saturday, August 17th, 2019. These storms caused many trees and power lines to be downed and about 5,000 power outages. Training storms also led to reports of flooding.
