An upper-level trough remained in place over the region on August 5th. Instability was sufficient for the generation of numerous showers and thunderstorms, especially north of Pittsburgh, but relatively low CAPE and shear levels kept storms sub-severe. However, a slow-moving storm with very heavy rainfall did create some minor flash flooding in portions of Mercer County.
