Several clusters of thunderstorms developed during peak afternoon heating across north Alabama. These formed in an environment favorable for downbursts capable of damaging winds. Small hail was also reported.||Several of the thunderstorms produced intense downpours in a short period of time, including 1-2 inches in less than an hour.
