Scattered thunderstorms developed across the lower deserts of Imperial County - from the Imperial Valley eastward to the lower Colorado River valley - during the afternoon and evening hours on September 25th. Instability was elevated due to the close proximity of an upper level low pressure system and cool air aloft, and the increased instability aided the thunderstorm development.
