Scattered thunderstorms developed over the lower deserts of far southeast California and far southwest Arizona during the afternoon hours on September 26th. Some of the stronger storms produced very heavy rain that led to an episode of flash flooding along the lower Colorado River valley between the towns of Parker and Blythe. During the middle of the afternoon a trained weather spotter 14 miles northeast of Blythe reported flash flooding along Highway 95. Flash flooding occurred in multiple loc
