A backdoor cold front moving from east to west across the area as high pressure built across the Mid-Atlantic states. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms developed ahead of this boundary. This front stalled during the late afternoon and evening hours across southwest Alabama. A thunderstorm developed along this boundary across portions of midtown and downtown Mobile. The storm stalled across these areas and produced 4 inches to over 10 inches of rain, causing numerous flooding issues
