Low pressure tracking slowly northeastward along the I-70 corridor triggered several waves of showers and thunderstorms across central Illinois during the morning of September 1st. The heaviest rainfall occurred across portions of western and southern Sangamon County where amounts of 4 to 6 inches were observed.
