Widespread showers and thunderstorms developed into northwestern Arkansas during the early morning hours of the 6th, as a low-level jet increased across the area, lifting warm and very moist air up and over a slow-moving cold front. The front eventually stalled over southeastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas, with continued thunderstorm development north of it through the day.
